Last year I had a "What to wear" post when I panicked about what I was going to wear to the New Years eve forest festival wedding. Well, I decided on the lovely black dress and I thought I would share some photos from the wedding.
The setting was Hogsback - a picturesque mountain town about 3 hours from Port Elizabeth. It is mystical, pretty and just so special. Lovely mountains, waterfalls and the town only has about 10 buildings. Indigenous forests would make the perfect setting for a Forest Festival picnic wedding. Except for one small thing.....thick heavy mist and continous rain......

The Bride and Groom in the misty forest
Our little dresses and high heels proved to be the wrong choice when we sloshed through wet grass and mud. But we despite the vehicle slipping and sliding on the gravel roads we made it in time for the ceremony. We stood through a lovely, touching ceremony where the couple declared their love and devotion.
After the ceremony the picnic was moved to an indoor dining area. Such a pity as I think the forest would have been amazing. But the food was delicious and everyone made the most of a situation beyond all control.

Opna Gangham Style!
The reception was festive and we made it through to midnight with the usual drinking, dancing and eating. The highlight was a friend of ours, one of the shyest guys i know, hitting the dancefloor centre stage. He is currently teaching in Korea and a few months ago was caught on Korean TV doing Gangham Style at the F1. So when the DJ played the song, he took centre stage. IT was hilarious - he knows the words (the real words!!), all the moves and is just too funny!

Sparklers for the New year countdown
We left just after 12. When we got back to our guest house I was a little sad. It was New Years Eve! We should be celebrating, seeing in the New Year, not going to bed because the party had died.....So I put on my shoes, grabbed MrB and the rest and we head to the backpackers. Surprise! The rest of our table was at the backpackers having drinks. WOOHOO!! We ended up in bed just after 3. Not too bad.
The next day we joined our table for breakfast and then head back to my parents farm to pack for our next trip! The next day we were off to Cape Town for another wedding....more to follow!
