MrB said "let's do a fun opening dance"
I said" No, not a chance, let's have lessons and do something formal"
We went for lessons.
3 weeks before the big day I thought......"mmmmm, maybe we should do something fun to get the party started"
So I asked a friend to put together a few songs - our official song, one or two memorable ones and a favourite that would end it well". 24 hours later we had a dance mix. (My friend lives in London so this was even more awesome).
We worked out a routine in our bedroom in the mornings before work. We told no one...I lie. We told the photographers and two people in my office. There was no time to practice in the week before the wedding.
I gave the disk with the song to the DJ. He said we were mad. I panicked.
I told the bridal party and the MC - "if the opening dance goes wrong, SAVE US" Looking at the video - did they join in for us or did they save us?
When we went up to dance I whispered to MrB "Are we doing this?"
He replied "the music is playing so it's too late now"
Here is the video from our mad opening dance. Looking back, we probably should have told the guys with the video cameras about the plan.
How mad was this? and brave, or stupid? !
