I had a post all ready to go this morning. But then on my
morning blog hopping I found this great post and concept from Mrs to Mamma. I
was reminded of why I started this blog.
For years I had the dream of being a writer. Someone who
tells stories and who creates characters that others want to read about. As
life became more serious and I realised that I need a job that would pay the
bills, the dream fell to one side. I considered food writing or travel writing.
But as I looked at what you need to do any of these, I realised that my grammar
is too poor, my attention to detail is lacking and that maybe, my voice just
isn’t that of a writer’s.
When I started my blog it was because I was bored at work. I
wanted to get back in touch with me and my dreams. I wanted to write and I
thought that a blog would be a great way to try writing. I realised very
quickly that you need a theme, topic or interest group for a blog to have a
life. Let’s be honest, to have a visitor who leaves comments makes it a bit
more worthwhile. I decided that I didn’t want a blog about weddings, or city
life or fashion. I wanted a blog about me. Who I am. What I find that I like,
what I do that I want to share and who I meet that has a story to tell.
So this is my blog, This is where I want to write stories
and share experiences. Maybe one day I will write a short story or a novel.
Every once in a while there will be a post that is a story and not just a
collection of photos. I tell myself stories, I have thoughts that I want to
write down and hopefully more of these will find their way onto my blog.
If you want to write more, then join in. Let’s embrace our
inner writers and set them free on our blogs

Love this post... I think it's great to pause every once in awhile and reflect on why we started our blogs. Mine has transformed a bit over the years, but I must say that I'm happy with where it is at the current moment :)
