So drugged up
While I was at home recovering from my surgery our lovely cat, Thomas, came home with a limp.
We monitored him for a few days, assuming it was a tendon. Nothing appeared broken. We tried to keep him inside as much as possible, minimized his active play and fed him on the floor (note, not off the floor!).
Days later he had still no recovered, was still limping and refused to let us come near him. He wasn't himself at all and MrB decided that our cat had to see the vet.
One week after my surgery, Thomas was admitted into the clinic.
Nothing too dramatic but with cats you can't be too careful.
Xrays and a vet exam later it turns out he was in a fight and was injured.
The injury had gotten infected and the infection had spread to his lymph system. Basically all the bad stuff was leaking into his system.
So they cleaned him up
Drained it all out of his poor little body
Injections of cortisone and antibiotics.
Luckily no over night visit and our poor baby was allowed to come home.
I think MrB was on a thin thread at this stage.
In one week he had watched his wife and his cat be put under and medically made better.
Too much to worry about for anyone!
The great news is Thomas has bounced back. He was grumpy and so high, all drugged up when he came home.
He wasn't allowed outside for 3 days. This made him miserable and extra grumpy. I think he "hated" us. He had to get pills twice a day which he hated the most!
Poor cat was propped up with pillows while he slept off his medically drugged state
When Thomas was finally allowed out the house, free to roam the complex again, he was overjoyed! We couldn't get close to him the first few hours. I think he was scared we would lock him up again. Fair enough!
This face says "do no touch me"
Thomas has two great friends who came to check up on him almost daily.
We nicknamed the one "Blackie" (yes, he is pitch black with bright green eyes) and the other one "Kitten" (although I am thinking it may become Tiger)
Blackie moves fast and is skittish but Kitten let me take a photo of him.
My husband has had endless stress at work this month, been faced with hospital and vet bills and had to nurse his wife and cat back to health. I think he deserves a spa day. If only I can afford it!
Any ideas for a budget friendly treat for the husband? Something to help him relax and sweep away the stress.
